I've made three big quilts in the last six weeks (plus a couple of other smaller ones). A Dash of Luck was 72x90, Serendipity was 84x96, and Springtime Blooms was a whopping 80x100. So, I was really ready to work on a smaller quilt. This was a really fun and easy quilt to put together, and the cutting was simple as well which is always a bonus. I was able to cut and piece the entire quilt top just today!
This quilt will be a gift, and the colors coordinate with the recipient's living room decor, so I can't wait to get this one quilted up and ready to give!
Love it!!! <3
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I wonder why wonky scares me so much?! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! And I do the same thing with Harry Potter despite also owning the DVD set!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteKelly, is there a tutorial out there somewhere for this pattern? I would love to try it sometime!
ReplyDeleteYou are now officially my favorite quilt blogger. I love your style. I'm a teacher also, and now that you've admitted to being a potterhead like myself, I see that I'm meant to read your blog religiously. Keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze me!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are sew quick! Did you get a hold of Harry's magic wand or something? What a fun day you must have had... Piecing a quilt, watching Harry and hanging out with your son. Glad to hear you enjoyed the day! And your top looks great!
ReplyDeleteAs Linda B says, you are my favorite quilt blogger too.
ReplyDeleteI am full of admiration for how quick you are at piecing and quilting. So many quilts in 6 weeks, it looks to me as a fairy tale ! I'd like to be half as quick as you are.
You say "Feel free to pin, but please include a link back to my blog" I did on my blog to relate your quilts for men, so inspiring. I am sure that now my French quilter friends are going to work with love for husbands, uncles, and brothers, as you did. Have a great Sunday time Kelly.
It turned out adorable!!!! Excellent job!
ReplyDeleteLook great Kelly! It is always nice to do a quick small project now and then! Also I can't help but watch all the harry potter movies too, like every time they are on.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I have been wanting to try this soon :)
ReplyDeleteThat DOES sound like a perfect Saturday!!
ReplyDeleteA wonky cross quilt is on my bucket list too :)
Can't believe how fast you sew!! I love the wonky crosses...I've been meaning to try them for aaaages. Great to see yours they've reminded me :)
ReplyDeleteIt´s wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like the "wonkynes" in it and the colors!
Another great work from you!
You get way too much done. Make the rest of us look bad. :) It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really like the colors and the pattern. Great job!
ReplyDeleteYou are a "power quilter". Love your quilts.
ReplyDeleteI feel like a copy cat but I, too, would like to see how this quilt is cut and goes together. I am always looking for "easy" patterns for kids charity quilts, especially ones that boys would like. This looks perfect. from an also Potter fan.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Kelly! And definitely sounds like way more fun than my weekend of painting walls and assembling Ikea furniture!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt, Kelly. I like to watch favorite "familiar" movies while I sew too.
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics look gorgeous together! I know what you mean about the Harry Potter movies -- and they're easy to watch one after the other. One weekend just after my oldest got the Indiana Jones movies for Christmas he wanted to watch all of them. Sounded like an okay idea at the time, but by the end of the day I was losing my mind. And I wasn't even watching, just hearing the music...
ReplyDeletegifts are the most fun to make. some old movies are like comfort food-impossible to resist.
ReplyDeleteHarry Potter ROCKS! Just another thing we have in common. Have you been on Pottermore? Love your wonky cross quilt...it's such a quick pattern to put together. It was fun seeing you yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt very much.and the colour!!!!Hugs Bambi
ReplyDeleteI love Harry Potter too. We had a great time visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando this summer. Love the quilt too.
