Long and Short, Lava Flow, and Railroad

Hey there, friends!  It's time for me to introduce you to the next three designs in my new book, Perfectly Pieced Quilt Backs.  We're continuing today with quilt back designs that use medium-sized scraps.  

First up is the Long and Short quilt back, and you'll probably recognize this as my cover girl!  This quilt back is a great choice if you have scrap strips from both width-of-fabric yardage and fat quarters.

Next up is Lava Flow, and I'm sure you can tell that the color palette was the inspiration for this design.  This layout is a fun way to use up those scrap rectangles!  You can see that they're not all a consistent length or width.  The variation adds lots of interest.

The last feature for today is the Railroad design.  If you have strips of width-of-fabric yardage, the Railroad back is a great way to show them off.  These long strips take center stage, with three different prints used to widen out the quilt back.
