Pink Champagne

Well, my little pink and gold baby quilt is finished, and let me tell you, it is so darn cute!  I'm not a pink-loving girl at all, but the addition of just a little glitz made this one fun.

The oval snowball blocks in this quilt measure 3" x 6" finished, and the corner squares were cut at 1.5".  The soft, floaty effect of the pink, gold, and white moving across the quilt, combined with the color combo reminded me of bubbly pink champagne, and that's what I've decided to call this quilt.

In the sunshine, the sprinkles of gold make the entire quilt glow, and it's such a neat effect.  I used up lots of the leftovers on the back, and even had enough to make a scrappy binding.

This little quilt measures 48" square, and is going to perfectly match the nursery for which it was made.  Best of all, I think the addition of the gold gives a little flair to this palette, and that will really help this quilt grow with its recipient.

  1. What a great quilt. It looks shimmery. I've never seen an oval snowball block. Very nice.

  3. If you aren't a pink lover then chances are this quilt would be a game changer for that. What beautiful girly-girl quilt! Makes me want to buy that gold and pair it up with many other colors to see the effect of it. I like it.

  4. It turned out so darn cute! I don't know why I'm so drawn to this quilt...it's very pastel, which isn't me! But it's adorable. Also, the quilting design is something I'm going to attempt today. So thank you for the inspiration!

  6. Nice quilt finish. I have taken your "using up the leftovers on the back" to heart. I'm as tickled as you are to use those leftovers.

  7. Hi Kelly, I’m new to your blog... I’m not a fan of pink either but I agree, this quilt is darling! I looked for a “home” page with an “about me” write up but couldn’t find one... I wonder where you live? Somewhere south maybe, hence yhe use of “ya’ll?” Grin. I’m in north Idaho and it’s cold here too. Have a great day! Warmly, Pris from Coeur d’Alene.

    1. Hello, Pris!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you like this one. If you are looking at my blog on a phone, it doesn't load the pages the same way unless you scroll down and click "view the web version." If you just go to www.myquiltinfatuation.com that will take you straight to the home page, and there is an About Me page as well. I live in Tennessee, but I am a south Louisiana girl, born and raised, haha! Yes, the "y'all" definitely gives that away.

      :) Kelly

  8. Oh this is just too lovely to explain!!! I’m not terribly experienced in seeing a quilt and then replicating it, even w the few stats you gave... is it at all possible that you might post the directions? I’d be HAPPY to pay you however you could manage that! Just a thought...🤪. Thanks!
