Link Up and a Giveaway!

Welcome to another NTT, y'all!  I am working on a new quilt of course, but right now the fabric is sitting in cut pieces, just waiting to be turned into blocks.  I'm hoping to make some serious progress on them tonight so I have something to show you!

So, in the absence of progress photos, let's get right to the giveaway!  Shabby Fabrics is offering a fat quarter bundle of Heather Bailey's Up Parasol collection in the Summer Rain colorway!  I just LOVE this fabric line.  The colors are so fresh and pretty!

To enter, just enter a comment below!  I'll announce the winner at next week's party!  **Be sure to leave your email address if you are a no-reply blogger!

This giveaway is now closed, but I host giveaways frequently, so keep an eye out!  :)

Speaking of parties- let's do it!  Last week's link up had so much eye candy!  Katie Mae Quilts showed off her finished Spin Cycle quilt- love!!

These yummy little granny squares from Porch Swing Quilts are just too cute!

and this Quarter Log Cabin quilt by Marries Makes Things is so sweet!

So, time to show me what's going on in your sewing space this week!

1.  You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

Final AB and THREE Giveaways!

It is (almost) finished.  I am working on my final Amy Butler quilt from my huge stash.  I have some fabric set aside for the backing, and there are a few prints that I have put into my general stash that I think will be easier to mix with others.  And I'm giving some away as well, so keep reading!

I have been so inspired by the all of the Moroccan tile fabric prints I've been seeing lately.  I wanted to make a quilt with the same interlocking tile design without having to sew curves (I'm still a chicken about that).  I'm so pleased with the way this came together that I think it's going to be my next pattern!

So, what about the giveaways?  Well first off, I have a scrap bag with several different Amy Butler prints.  There are at least a dozen different prints in this stack.  The pieces are in a variety of sizes, and there is a pretty decent amount of fabric in here!  I will be adding the scraps from my quilt backing as well before shipping it out.  If you've never worked with Amy Butler fabrics, but want to give the bold, saturated colors a try, this would be a great way to dip your toe in the water without having to plunge into making a huge quilt.

Secondly, I have cut a few fat quarters from some of the prints that I had more yardage of.  Do you ever have SO much of a single fabric that you worry that you can never use it up?  Well, that has happened with a few of these prints.  Usually it happens when I buy something for a quilt backing, then end up changing my design.  So, I'm giving away four fat quarters.  Two of them are from the Cameo line (aquas), one from Soul Blossoms (lime green), and the last one is from the Alchemy collection (pink).  I think the lime green print is actually a quarter yard cut, and not a FQ.

Finally, I am SO excited that I get to offer you a $25 gift certificate to Southern Fabric!  Southern Fabric is one of my spectacular sponsors, and if you've never shopped there, you are really missing out!  They have a wonderful selection of precuts, fat quarter bundles, patterns, notions- you get the idea!  They always have a daily deal going on that is tough to pass up!

They are generously offering my readers 20% off of their entire purchase TODAY ONLY!  The coupon will expire at midnight, so hop on over there!  The coupon code is quiltinfatuation!

Southern Fabric
Okay, so the great thing is that to enter ALL three giveaways, all you need to do is leave ONE comment below!  Easy peasy!

The Southern Fabric giveaway is open to all, but the two Amy Butler giveaways are open to my readers only, in thanks for being such a wonderful source of inspiration and encouragement!

I will use a random number generator to select the winners next Wednesday afternoon, and announce the winners at next week's NTT party.  Good luck to all and happy weekend!

*This giveaway is now closed.  Thank you so much to all who entered!  :)

A Milestone, and a Few Giveaways!

My blogging journey has been an amazing eight month whirlwind, and I just realized that My Quilt Infatuation has well surpassed the 1,000 reader mark!  I've said it before and I'll say it again- I'm not into blogging for the "numbers game," so I'm not exactly sure when that even happened.

Blogging is fulfilling for me for so many reasons-  I am humbled by your support, thankful for your friendship, and inspired by your creative advice.  These are the things that continue to fuel my own passion for writing, creating and connecting.  I have grown more as a quilter in these last eight months, than I had in years before- and I am truly blessed.

As a thank you to my readers, I have three different giveaways!  First up, Ginger from Five Monkey Fabrics is offering a fat quarter bundle of 5 prints in the Little Azalea line.  Aren't they yummy??  Be sure to like Five Monkey Fabrics on facebook, follow on Twitter, or favorite on Etsy to enter this giveaway.  You'll want to hear all of the news on the latest specials and sales!

Secondly, provided by The Warm Company is a Queen Size (90x108 in.) Warm and Natural batting.  If you've never used Warm and Natural, you simply MUST try it.  This stuff is the best- hands down!  It has a fantastic weight that really gives an heirloom quality to your quilt.

And last but not least, as a personal token of thanks, I am giving away a 7 inch stacker of Lori Holt's Gracie Girl from my own stash.  These prints are so much fun!

Since this is a thank you, I'm only opening these giveaways to my readers.  Of course, if you'd like to become a new follower and enter- the more the merrier!  You can find all of the appropriate buttons to help you do that on my right sidebar.  I'm also happy to say that the giveaways are open to anyone in the wide world.  So to all of my international friends- this one's for you too!

To enter the giveaways, just leave a comment for me and let me know how you follow (only one entry per person, please).  I'll use Mr. Random to choose all three winners on Wednesday afternoon, so I can announce them in next week's Needle and Thread Thursday party.

*If you're a no-reply blogger or a wordpress user, be sure to leave an email address with your comment so I can contact you!  Happy weekend, thanks again for the journey, and good luck!

Edited- 2/5- The winners have been selected and can be found HERE!

Blossoms and Butterflies...and Bumbletees

I finished up my Lottie Da quilt yesterday, and managed to get a few pictures between periods of rain.  I decided to name this one Blossoms and Butterflies.  The butterfly fabric is very subtle in the photo, but in person, it is so pretty.  I just didn't get a close up of it in photographing the quilt, but there is a picture of it below!  I just love the colors in these fabrics.  They're sweet without being too sugary, and they feel really fresh.

Most of the fabrics are Lottie Da, by Heather Bailey, but I did add a few other prints, including the chevron and polkadot.  I used all of the scraps in the backing (of course), and am totally in love with both sides of this quilt!

I knew as soon as I saw that cute lilac fabric that I wanted to use it for the binding!

I quilted this with a simple meander, although I did make it a little tighter than I normally do. And although you can't really get a sense of the scale with the pictures, I've been making my labels smaller as well.  I figure that with a baby quilt, I should keep the scale of the label consistent with the scale of the quilt.  Each strip is 4 inches finished, and the center square is 9 inches, so the finished quilt measures 49 inches square.

I made this quilt for the local shop that sells my quilts- Bumbletees Fabrics, and I'm so excited to introduce them as a sponsor!

                                                             Bumbletees Fabrics

Bumbletees is my local sewing studio that offers sewing classes, gifts made with fabric by local artists, applique clothing, and of course shelves filled with bolts of gorgeous, modern quilting fabric.  Lots of the fabrics I use in my quilts are from Bumbletees, since I'm in there at least once a week!

I've loved getting to know the owners, Jan and Andrea.  They are super friendly, and they have wonderful customer service, and great prices!

Check out a few photos of the shop, and you'll see why I can't stay away!  And if you look closely, you'll see my quilts sprinkled here and there!

See what I mean?  Art, frames, pillows, bunting, tea towels, cute applique clothing- and FABRIC!  Is it any wonder that I'm in there all the time?

To kick off their sponsorship, Bumbletees Fabrics is offering a giveaway of five of the fat quarters in the Lottie Da line!

To enter the giveaway-

1.  Like Bumbletees Fabrics on facebook and leave a comment for me to let me know!

*For a second entry-
2.  Visit Bumbletees Fabrics and add them to your favorites list on etsy.  Be sure to let me know with a comment!

Mr. Random will pick a winner next Saturday, November 9th.  If you're a no-reply blogger or a Wordpress user, please be sure to leave your email address so that we can contact you and get your fabric all packaged up and sent to you ASAP!

Happy sewing and good luck!

Thanks For the Ride- a Giveaway

I've been blogging for four months now, and it has been an amazing journey.  I've made lots of quilty friends who are encouraging and who continue to inspire my creativity.  Now, I didn't start blogging so I could be a numbers counter, but I realized this morning that I have just surpassed 500 readers (only counting bloglovin' and email subscriptions- I don't know how to get an accurate Feedly count), and I want to say thank you.  As a huge thanks to my readers, I am offering a giveaway.

I'm offering five fat quarters that are Lakehouse Dry Goods Fabrics, from their Teatime Marguerite line.  The colors are soft and beautiful, and would make a very sweet little girl's quilt.

Since this is my way of saying thanks, this giveaway is only open to my followers.  No worries though, if you would like to become a new follower and enter, the more the merrier, I say!

If you'd like to enter the giveaway, just leave me a comment letting me know how you follow.  Next Saturday, on 9/21, Mr. Random will choose a number to pick the winner!

Oh, and one other thing- be sure to leave your email address if you're a no-reply blogger so that I can contact you.  Wordpressers- you also show up as no-reply to us Blogger users (I hate that), so leave your email address too!

I will ship these fabrics anywhere in the world, so even if you're not in the US, don't let that stop you!

It's been an amazing ride so far in this blogging world, and I'm thankful every day for such a great online group of friends.  Good luck!  :)

Oh, the Fugliness of It All- a Giveaway!

Lucy At Charm About You is hosting the Fugly Fabric Party.  You know how rescue groups take unwanted pets and find new, loving homes for them?  Yeah, it's basically like that, but for fabric!  All of the unloved fabrics of the world deserve a new home where they can be used, right?

So, I'm having a giveaway with my contributions to the Fugly Fabric Party!  First up is a set of 24 fat quarters.  They're all quilt shop quality fabrics.  I ordered a grab bag set of a ton of FQ's one time, and actually used most of them, but these just aren't my style.  To be fair, some of them aren't truly hideous, but they just don't quite fit with the kinds of quilts I make.

Now, my second offering, I knowingly purchased.  Perhaps you remember my brother in law's Outdoorsman's Quilt?  Well, I purchased the camouflage fabric with my calculations for regular 44 inch fabric.  Well, that fabric was 57 inch fabric, so I had a LOT of leftovers.  It's licensed Mossy Oak camouflage, and was not cheap.  I have three big pieces that I'm guessing total 2-3 yards.  I just can't fathom another use for this fabric, since this quilt was so different from what I usually sew.

So, what do you need to do to win one of them?  Easy!  Just leave me a comment letting me know which one you would like.  Next Saturday, on 8/31, I'll randomly choose numbers to pick the winners!  Followers get a second chance to win.  Just be sure to leave a second comment to let me know how you're following!

Oh, and one other thing- be sure to leave your email address if you're a no-reply blogger so that I can contact you.  Wordpressers- you also show up as no-reply to us Blogger users (I hate that), so leave your email address too!

Sadly, I can't ship outside of the US.

I hope this neglected fabric can find a home where it will be used and loved!  Check out Lucy's Fugly Fabric Party for other fabric rescues out there!
