Mid-Mod Diamonds and NTT

Welcome to Needle and Thread Thursday, and happy March y'all!  Mid-Mod Diamonds is all finished and I'm so happy I get to show it off today.

This quilt uses the Cider collection by Basic Grey, and the more I worked with these softer, earthy colors, the more I appreciated them.

Even though I could have used fewer, I chose twenty-five prints from the collection for the top, which means that I had plenty of leftovers.  They look great paired with this Khaki grunge on the back though!

A basic stipple adds plenty of texture and still allows the jewels to take center stage.  I considered quilting lines to accentuate the shape of the blocks, but since this is destined to be a couch snuggle quilt, I wanted to keep it simple and soft.

I even had enough leftovers for a scrappy binding.  I always love the way a scrappy binding stands out on a quilt with white or cream in the background.

I had so much fun designing this pattern.  The way the diamonds fit together with the rounded negative space around them is so interesting, and it really is the perfect place to show off a bundle of prints.

The Mid-Mod Diamonds pattern is currently in the works, but I couldn't help but give you a peek at the cover.  Be on the lookout for it within the next couple of weeks!

Now, before we start the party, check out the highlights from last week.  Check out this lovely quilt by The Joyful Quilter.  She was inspired by my scrappy improv Riptide quilt, and it always makes me happy to see how I've inspired other quilters!

Sew Preeti Quilts shared two quilts this week.  Both are the same pattern, but two different color ways, and of course, both gorgeous!  This one was quilted by Rebecca Grace Quilting.

Take a look at this fresh table runner by Institches with Bonnie.  It just feels like spring!

And finally, this striking beauty is by Shannon at The Fleming's Nine.  I never seem to run out of little scraps, so this is such a great pattern for using them up!

Okie dokie, friends, it's time to party.  Let's link up!

1You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link within your
    post.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop"  when selecting your thumbnail photo.  For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work!  :)

  4. Mid Mod Diamonds came out great, and I love your khaki Grunge fabric for the backing. I wonder whose bright idea it was to name such a beautiful fabric line "grunge," anyway -- the name does not suit at all!
