More Secrets and NTT

Happy Needle and Thread Thursday, y'all!  I've been working on more secret gift sewing for the past few days, but decorating for Christmas has also taken up lots of my time.  We host a Christmas party every year on the first Saturday of December, so we have to hit the ground running after Thanksgiving to make sure everything is done in time.  Since I can't show you the happenings in my sewing space, we'll just have to make do with some photos of my three (very different) Christmas trees.  Our main family tree-

This vintage aluminum tree, decorated with a peppermint theme, is in my sewing room. This window also happens to face the front of the house.  In the daytime, the sunlight bounces off of the silver branches and throws a million sparkles in the room.  At night though, I love to turn on the old color wheel and watch the tree change colors!  Last night, I saw an older couple walking, and they stopped to watch the tree change for a few minutes with smiles on their faces.  It made my heart happy to know that it was probably nostalgic for them.

The LSU tree in my kitchen is my third tree, and it is brand new this year.  I've wanted an LSU tree for several years, and finally found a super slim white tree that would fit in the space perfectly without impeding the flow around the table.

Even though they are time consuming and take away some of my sewing time, I just love putting my trees up every year.  Thanks for the indulgence in allowing me to share them.  I just started a brand new quilt that is NOT a secret, so I'm looking forward to showing some progress on that soon.

Before we get to last week's features, I owe you two winners from the Black Friday post giveaways!  LouLou's Fabric Shop generously offered up two $25 gift certificates, and the winners are Joan and Chris- comment numbers 10 and 20!

Congrats to both of you!  Now, let's check out some of the eye candy from last week!  This Ugly Christmas Sweater quilt is by Tanya Quilts in CO, and it is awesomely kitschy!

This quilt is by Sew Preeti Quilts, and the colors are so happy!

And y'all know I can't resist a rainbow!  This bit of fabulousness is by Myra at Busy Hands Quilts.

Wow!  Just WOW- y'all really rock!  I can't wait to see what you share this week.  Let's party!

1.  You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop"  when selecting your thumbnail photo.  For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work!  :)

  1. I love your trees! I am starting fresh with all Xmas decor this year (I got rid of 95% of my decorations in the move) and I am trying to find some inspiration.

  2. I love that tree topper you have on the tree in the first photo! so original

  3. Thank you for featuring my Ombre Rainbow Baby Quilt!

  4. Beautiful trees! I really like your vintage silver one. My Grandmother had one with the colorwheel, that was so cool. Looking forward to seeing what you've got going on the sewing room.

  5. Your trees are gorgeous! So very festive! That pom-silver tree just makes me grin from ear to ear, reminds me of Christmas at my grandparents farm. Wonderful memories! Thank you for sharing!

  6. Wow, three Christmas trees must take some energy, I haven't even thought about one yet...eek! Actually, I'm still in denial that it's turned December today. Hope you have a great party this weekend. Look forward to seeing your 'not secret' sewing soon :)

  7. Your trees are all just lovely and so festive..while my grandparents had a traditional green tree in their living room your silver one took me back. They had a table top silver tree in another room where all of their Christmas cards were hung.

  8. WOW! Your trees are gorgeous! I have a hard time motivating myself to put up one! I'm mesmerized with the peppermint tree. Love it to pieces! I have a mini red tree, maybe I'll fill it with white ornaments this year! Thanks for the inspiration!

  9. Ilove your trees. Our is the traditional green and we begin the decor after December 8.
