Happy Needle and Thread Thursday, y'all! There is a LOT going on around here this week, though none of it involves fabric and thread. You may remember that my birthday and my son's are only one day apart (he's one day after mine), so fun birthday things have taken some time this week to celebrate turning 44 and 17. But the big thing that has been happening around here is vacation prep.
Next week, we are leaving for a huge road trip where we will be visiting lots of national parks and other sites- the Grand Canyon, Arches, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Rocky Mountains, and MORE. We will be gone for almost a month! That means that this week has also been consumed with laundry, packing lists, haircuts, house-cleaning, and yard work so that everything is all ready to go, and left in order for our house sitter.
As it turns out, this is the perfect time to have my machine serviced. The regular service light came on awhile ago, but since I was working on the quilts for my book, I just couldn't be without it. Then, I found out that the owners of my local Bernina dealership were retiring, and because everyone was trying to get their machines in for service before that happened, they were backed up for months. Thankfully, a brand new quilt shop and Bernina dealership opened up just minutes from me, and I've decided to use my vacation as the perfect opportunity to give my beloved Regina Bernina a spa day.
All of this is to say that after today, I'll be on vacation for the next few weeks. NTT will return on July 14th! I will be posting a few photos on Instagram throughout our trip, so you can keep up with me there.
So many awesome things were linked up at last week's party. Check out this fantastic quilt by Sandra at mmm quilts-
