Fruit Punch Scraps and NTT

Happy Needle and Thread Thursday, friends!  Between a couple of doctor's appointments, baseball, and general procrastination, I actually haven't sewn a single stitch since last week's party.  It's not that I haven't wanted to, it's just that I have really had a tough time deciding what to do with my next three scrap jars.

I had a vision in my head for these colors and even held out a few berry scraps from my last quilt to make it happen, but I couldn't seem to get it quite right when I sketched it out.  Until I'm sure that I'm heading in a direction I like, I just can't get started.  So, I've changed my plan a little bit and finally got them all sorted and ready to go.  Tomorrow, I'll start sewing them up!

Instead, enjoy a few extra highlights from last week's party!  Vasudha from Storied Quilts shared this stunner.

Laura at Slice of Pi Quilts linked up this super cute pineapple quilt.  Check out those prairie points!

This fresh table runner is by Vicki's Crafts and Quilting.

This pretty quilt in shades of purple is by Micki at 2 Dogs Studio.

Check out the gorgeous quilting on this quilt by Anja Quilts.

And finally, I am completely in awe of this bridge block designed and shared by Jayne at Twiggy and Opal.

Okay friends!  Let's party!

1You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop"  when selecting your thumbnail photo.  For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work!  :)

  1. Curious seeing your delish fruit punch scraps - do you cut all your fabrics up into strips? They all appear to be same width.....

    1. Those piles contain strips anywhere from 1.5" to about 3" in width, all with varying lengths. And then the smaller pieces are in a different pile. They look more homogeneous in the photo because they are in piles of like colors. I DO sort by size though, using the method in my book, separating the shorter strips from the much longer ones. When things of similar size are all together, it makes actually sewing them together much easier.

    2. Thanks Kelly! I have your book but have not read it yet so I will check out your sorting methods. Sounds like a good plan you have.

  2. I'm pretty sure you have a great plan for these scraps! You always do! And with those colors there are endless possibilities! Thank you for sharing my bridge! It certainly was a challenge for me.

  5. I know how that feels and whenever I start without a plan of some kind I usually regret what happens. Love the colors though. I have a similar group of colors in Grunge but aren't yet sure what I want to make with them. It will come.
