Summer Blossom Blocks and NTT

Welcome to Needle and Thread Thursday, y'all.  I've been sewing these Summer Blossom blocks all week and just loving the way they're coming together!

The original version of this flower block is in my book, Scrappy Improv Quilting, as a single-block mini quilt.  The denim blue background in the mini version makes the colors really pop, but since I was making a whole garden of Summer Blossoms with lots of different colors, I opted for a subtle low volume print to allow every color to stand out.

I am going to try to get this top put together this evening, but I might have to come back to them next week, because I need to pack!  Tomorrow morning, I'll be flying out to visit the Quilters of South Carolina for their annual spring meeting.  This group is comprised of guilds all over the state of South Carolina, and I love that they gather together each year.  I'll be teaching two full-day classes, and will be presenting a trunk show during the meeting.  I won't be home until Monday night.

Okay friends!  Let's get this party started, but first, check out these highlights from last week.  This soft, pretty finish is from Anne-Marie at Stories From the Sewing Room-

Alycia at A Quilty Girl showed off this fresh quilt top-

I love this simple, yet sweet quilt from Quilting Gail-

This little hummingbird mini from Julie's Quilts and Costumes is just awesome!

And just look at this fun round robin quilt from Daryl at Patchouli Mood Studio-

Y'all!!!  I could have easily chosen several more features because the links last week were just THAT GOOD.  But alas, I have to stop somewhere.  If you missed last week's party, scroll back and check it out!  I can't wait to see what you have going on this week.  I'll be ogling from South Carolina!

1You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link within your
    post.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop"  when selecting your thumbnail photo.  For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work!  :)

  9. Hi Kelly, I saw your Little Houses quilt in winter 2025 Fons and Porter magazine. Is there a pattern for this? I have a friend that is a realtor and I would love to make it for her. Thanks , Jennifer Jhardesty@kc.rr.com
