Stash Busting and NTT

Hey there, my friends!  Welcome to Needle and Thread Thursday!  This week, I've been working on my Twinkling Stars pattern and considering what I want to sew next.  I've been working diligently for a few years to reduce my stash, making as many quilts as possible without adding to it, and it just hit me this week how successful that effort has been.

Obviously, I've purchased some fabric during that time, but a few years ago, this cabinet was absolutely jam-packed with fabric; all four shelves, with no room to spare.  Here's the thing though, as my stash dwindles, I get a huge sense of accomplishment but it gets harder and harder for me to get inspiration from it.  I still have a good bit of fabric, but some colors are pretty sparse, and I think I'm getting to the point where I need to start purchasing some fabric and using my stash to supplement, rather than trying to sew a complete quilt from stash.  I'm still thinking about whether or not I can some up with something without buying, but I'm not sure it's going to happen.

Last week's party was once again filled with really amazing links, like this stunning quilt shared by Rebecca Grace Quilting-

Rita at Quiltpiecer shared this fun quilt-

And check out this awesome quilt from Nancy at Grace and Peace Quilting-

Okay friends!  Are y'all ready to get our party going?  Let's get to it!

With that, it's time to show what you've been working on this week.  Let's do it!

1You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link within your
    post.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop"  when selecting your thumbnail photo.  For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work!  :)

  1. Wow, the photo of your stash is a testament to a lot of hard work. Do you have a rough idea of the number of quilts you made in order to reduce your stash that much?

  5. I love how your cabinet looks! And I admire how you're working to reduce stash. Me too! I have made it my 2023 goal to use-up ,and only buy fabric when it's necessary to complete a project. So far, so good, though the place where my efforts are most noticeable is in the depth of the scrap bins, and maybe a bit on shelves that were once cram-a-jammed. I'd love to empty an entire shelf though! That's fantastic. Your good progress has motivated me to use-up more.

  6. Congrats at using up your stash so well. I look at mine and realize I have a LOT of quilts to make if I ever want to decrease my stash. Better get busy.
