Geo Drops Finish and NTT

Hey there, y'all.  It's time for Needle and Thread Thursday again, and am I so very excited to share my latest quilt finish with you.  Geo Drops is all done, and the texture in this one is just yummy.

It took me a few days to get this one quilted, but it was definitely worth it.  I knew that the raindrops needed wavy lines to accentuate the falling, dripping effect of the blocks, and I think it adds so much to the overall quilt.

On the back, I used up all of my leftovers along with some strips of chambray to widen it out.  As it turns out, I had just enough chambray leftover from the backings of the five memory quilts I made from men's shirts last fall, and the casual denim was a perfect addition to this quilt.  I'm trying really hard to make quilts entirely from stash, so hooray for putting these leftover chunks to good use!

The binding is Kona Smoke, which is a warmer shade of gray, and the tone blends beautifully with the other gray fabrics.  It blends in just perfectly with the background and doesn't compete with it.

The Geo Drops pattern is already in the works and will be offered in three different sizes, and it will include instructions for either a scrappy background as shown here, or a single solid background fabric.  It is a traditionally pieced pattern (not paper pieced!) and SO much fun to put together.  I'm in the final stages of getting this pattern ready for release, so be on the lookout!

Okay friends!  Check out some of my favorites from last week, and then we'll get our party on!  This simple but sweet quilt is by Jocelyn at Canadian Needle Nana-

Sew Yummy shared progress on this scrapalicious quilt.  Those colors just pop against that black background!

And Katie at The Cozy Burrow shared her journey to finishing this pretty, scrappy quilt-

Woohoo!  Y'all are full of inspiration and eye candy as always, so let's do this!

1You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link within your
    post.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop"  when selecting your thumbnail photo.  For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work!  :)

  5. Geo Drops is a really pretty finish. You're right that the wavy quilting is a nice accent to the shapes. I'm always a fan of a pieced backing which really suits my tendency toward frugal. Yay you! Good work all around. I hope your pattern sells well.

    1. Thanks so much, Linda. I always fight myself with just wanting to "get it done" or quilting a motif that takes more time but really accentuates the quilt best. I'm so glad I did the wavy quilting on this one. btw- I am responding here because Blogger suddenly stopped emailing comments to me, so I can't reply via email.

  6. Geo Drops is a pretty pattern. I love the calming blues throughout the quilt, and the scrappy backing is great (love that chambray fabric). Nice finish!
