Butterfly Kisses Pattern and NTT

Welcome back to Needle and Thread Thursday!  My beach vacation was wonderfully relaxing, though I did miss hosting NTT last week, and I'm glad to be back.  There really is no place like home.  Amidst unpacking and laundry, I've taken some time to finish up the pattern for my latest quilt, Butterfly Kisses!

I don't often work with precuts, so when I purchased this layer cake from my local shop, I was at a bit of a loss on how to use it.  In browsing though the web for a pattern, I noticed that most layer cake patterns are pretty simple in design.  That can be really lovely, but it wasn't what I had in mind for these fabrics.  So, I set out to design a pattern that had a little more glamour.

I love the shape of these blocks, as well as the pretty secondary design created.  Best of all, as I mentioned in my last post, the lap size only requires one layer cake for a 60" x 75" quilt, and the queen size only requires two!  If you're looking for a layer cake pattern that's a little beyond basic, I hope you'll check it out in my Etsy and Craftsy shops!

Alrighty!  Time to check out some of the amazing eye candy linked up at our party two weeks ago!  Sew Sunshine showed off her stunning Triumphal Arches quilt.  There are lots of photos of it on the post, but I couldn't resist highlighting the one with the sun shining through.

I'm not a hand sewist, so I appreciate that any EPP project is a labor of love.  This quilt, by Den syende himmel has been ongoing, and I love to see the progress.

And I love the simplicity of HST with the great color depth in this quilt by Quilting is in My Blood.

Okay friends-  it's time to link up the latest happenings from your sewing space from the last TWO weeks.  I can't wait to catch up!

1. You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!

*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop"  when selecting your thumbnail photo.  For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work!  :)

  1. I'm not usually a layer cake person either but I bought one with the gift certificate I won here! How perfect! I've added your pattern to my wishlist. I love it!

  2. Yahoo! I just bought the pattern, nice job!! Very well written and I'm excited to make this one! :) Thanks so much!

  3. Sigh, I need to get out and take photos of the quilt I finished in April...yes, April, double sigh...

  4. Added to my favorites, would make a great kit for Craftsy.

  5. Oh thanks to much for showing off my Triumphal arches. Such a fun photo shoot too. ;) I love your butterfly kisses quilt especially the one orange block that looks like butterfly markings towards the upper middle!! :)

  6. Fantastic pattern.Love your fabric combo!

  7. All three projects that you highlighted are so beautiful! I've been following the EPP project for some time now! Talk about perseverance!

Your pattern and color choices are so beautiful!
Thank you for hosting the link up! Welcome back!

Thanks so much for your comment and for visiting! I read and appreciate every single comment, and I reply to each one as soon as I can. If you don't hear back from me, you might be a no-reply blogger. :)
