Remember the exam I took several weeks ago? Well, I got my scores last week and completely forgot to share that I passed with flying colors! I don't know if I've mentioned this on my blog or not, but I have a Masters degree in Literacy Instruction, but I never took the test to become a Reading Specialist. I have always been content staying in a regular elementary classroom, particularly while my son is in elementary school and gets to come to school with me. Reading Specialists around here travel to various schools, and I just didn't want to do that.
Anyway, there are lots of changes going on in my school district right now, and I figured that this is a great time to go ahead and get the formal Reading Specialist endorsement in addition to the test I took a few weeks ago. Yes, I really am feeling like a glutton for punishment.
All of this is to say that I'm in manic study mode again, and this test is much tougher than the last! The test is on April 19th, and I'm staying disciplined and not sewing during these next couple of weeks until it's behind me.
You know this is killing me because I have these lovely citrus shades all picked out for the Triangle QAL going on right now at the Sassy Quilter.
Sigh...they will just have to wait. I'm hoping I can catch up with the group when my test is over.
Just so you know- I will still be hosting NTT this week and next, but other than that, I'm afraid I'll be absent from the blogosphere. Send some great study vibes my way, because y'all know I'd so much rather be quilting!
Well done on your exam result, and best wishes for the next one. Yes, sometimes we need to set our love of quilting aside for a bit, and focus on our careers. I know the feeling!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your test! Study hard! I am sure that you will do great!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your test...you can do it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your studies. I have a cousin who is (I don't know her title, but it sounds very similar to your 'reading specialist') and she loves it. She is able to implement new programs in 'failing' schools and is making a great impact.
ReplyDeleteAs for the triangle quilt along ... you can catch up in no time. I got behind being on vacation for a week, and I'm almost caught up. If I can do it, I know you can. Even if I never quite catch up fully, it's a fun thing and I'm so excited because my points are matching up!! LOL.
And those are beeee-u-ti-ful fabrics you have picked out!
Good luck with all your studying!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and best of luck on the next test!! That is fantastic! It's great that you have your Master's and can make a career change if you want to. :) LOVE those fabrics together. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It is so hard to balance life, work, family, and quilting! Good luck with the next test!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! All positive thoughts for your next test!
ReplyDeleteEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee...CONGRATULATIONS!!! I figured you deserved a SHOUT out for your great accomplishments.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! We are rooting for you!,
ReplyDeleteGood luck with this new reading specialist endorsement. I'm sure it will open up some amazing new options in your teaching career. As a fellow educator, I can empathize with you on the amount of work it takes to finish a new degree or endorsement while still devoting your full time attention to your students. You deserve a big HIGH FIVE!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your Masters and good luck with the next exam. The fabric you have for the triangles looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! With that kind of discipline, you will do very well in your next exam too. The fabrics will wait as a wonderful reward after you take the exam :)

Good luck to you
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the adventure! :) May every lesson learned needed for your exam be brought back to your memory and others not 'needed' be filed away until further notice. Now is the time for clarity! May you have perfect peace from this moment forward until you receive your scores. May doors of opportunity open wide before you!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the first round of testing, and good luck with the second! I have no doubts you'll do wonderfully. The best job I ever had was being a 4th grade reading teacher. I can't even imagine how exciting it will be to be a reading specialist. :) Use the lovely fabric as incentive. lol
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your studies. You can pump out that quilt afterwards in no time at all!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and good luck! We missed you Sunday.
ReplyDeleteYou'll do great, I'm sure! And then on to your next teaching adventure :)
ReplyDeleteQuilting can wait.
