Happy Needle and Thread Thursday, y'all. After submitting my manuscript last week I took a couple of days off to recoup, but lately, I've been working on a quilt for a baby boy.
The nursery is decorated with a barnyard/farm theme with these colors, and it's looking cute so far. I don't typically include novelty fabrics in my quilt, and I think that helps the quilt grow with the child long past the time the theme is changed. Even without farm themed fabrics, this quilt will still match the nursery just perfectly!
Last week's party had some great projects linked up. Take a look at this autumn beauty by Canadian Needle Nana, perfect for the season!
Cynthia at Quilting is More Fun Than Housework showed off this scrappy finish. So lovely!
1. You can link finished projects or WIP's , but just keep it about quilting and sewing!
2. Link to your specific post (not to your home page!) to make it easier for others.
3. Please remember to spread the word and post my button or a text link within your
post.
4. Spread the comment love far and wide!
5. Following me is not a requirement to link, but is so very appreciated!
*If you're new to the party, here's a helpful tip for linking up- select "Auto Crop" when selecting your thumbnail photo. For some reason, trying to crop your own image results in the dreaded "white question mark box," and we definitely want to see your awesome work! :)
Oooh, lovely eye candy.
ReplyDeleteThank you ever so much for giving my Pumpkin quilt a shout out. It was a pleasure to stitch!
ReplyDeleteSweet little baby quilt! I'm sure it felt great to be able to just sew again without any pressure!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, Kelly! I agree that not using 'baby' fabrics makes the quilt longer lasting.
ReplyDeleteYour new Wave Runner baby quilt is fabulous, Kelly! I'm not a fan of "baby" fabrics, either. I refuse to make baby quilts out of pastels, period -- considering what we know about the developing eyesight of infants, a baby quilt with bright colors, high contrast, even black and white is the way to go if you want to capture the attention of a new baby. Those pastel baby fabrics probably look like a Sea of Blah to a newborn.
