Making Progress

I've been taking advantage of my final few summer days and have managed to finish up the top of my latest quilt, and I really like how it is turning out!

I worried about the darker background (Kona Pewter) making it look too heavy, but I think the blue and orange fabrics just pop right out against it, and that keeps it fun!

I'm planning to get this one pressed and basted tonight, that is if I can summon the desire to crawl around on the floor;  and hopefully finished up before the weekend is out!  We've got a really full weekend ahead, so that will be tough, but it could happen.  :)

  1. Wow it looks even better in this photo Kelly! The Kona Pewter background creates an entirely different look and I think it was perfect. I can't imagine anything that would have worked out better. It's funny too, because I am working on a project that uses Kona Pewter too.

  12. Kelly, this is really cool! Is this your design? If you pattern it, I think it would great full-size as well - maybe offer several sizes:-)

  13. Thanks for a lesson on using pewter gray. Being a newbie to using gray, it is a new learning experience for this old hand. Beautiful quilt top design also.

  14. I've never tried any background other than kona white or bone. I need to step out of my comfort zone and do something fun like this. Love the bright orange and blues with this.
