The pattern is actually from Kitchen Table Quilting and is a free tutorial on Moda Bakeshop here-

www.modabakeshop.com/2013/06/simply-style-stacked-squares-quilt.html

but I modified the pattern to use fat quarters or quarter yards, rather than a layer cake and jelly roll strips. My modified cutting instructions and diagrams are in my post here-

myquiltinfatuation.blogspot.com/2014/08/stacked-squares-love.html

hope this helps!

:) KellyKelly @ My Quilt Infatuationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13383511246261347442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983525468027485560.post-40210875366972380862016-06-23T13:00:36.169-05:002016-06-23T13:00:36.169-05:00absolutely! good question. the answer is seam al...absolutely! good question. the answer is seam allowance. If you cut all of the others and not the whole blocks, they would be bigger. If you wanted to decide which squares would be your whole squares and figure out the measurements to sew them to be the proper size without cutting, you could certainly do that. I like having the layout flexibility though. I can decide while I'm laying out my quilt which squares I want to be left whole.

:) KellyKelly @ My Quilt Infatuationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13383511246261347442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983525468027485560.post-51616305549689616032016-06-23T12:24:02.640-05:002016-06-23T12:24:02.640-05:00I have a question about the Stacked Squares quilt....I have a question about the Stacked Squares quilt. I am retiring soon and want to make quilts for some of my co-workers to say "thanks" for their help and mentoring. This seems to be a perfect pattern for their quilts. I see that 4 of the blocks are actually whole blocks, BUT you cut them up anyway. It seems silly to me to cut up those four blocks just to sew them back together again. Can you explain to me why this is done to the 4 whole squares? Thanks!Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00238191855782978395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-983525468027485560.post-55905505325956103672016-06-23T11:33:07.689-05:002016-06-23T11:33:07.689-05:00The Stacked Square quilt caught my eye!
