(I understand why the solid squares used to make the the purse strings are smaller.)<br />In the pattern above it says " *purse strings (corner blocks)- four 4.5 inch squares. " I'm certainly no expert, but I can't quite figure out how this will work when you go to sew the whole block together. Are those pieces really supposed to be cut an inch smaller than the other squares?
